The Industry Experience Projects from the Faculty of IT at Monash University connect final-year Information Technology students with businesses through a work-integrated learning program, where students develop tailored systems under both academic and industry guidance. As an academic team from the Faculty of Information Technology with extensive industry experience and strong mentoring skills, we have successfully overseen more than 800 projects, ensuring a smooth process and delivering high-quality outcomes that meet your specific needs.
IE projects are team based, with students typically working in groups of four. Teams manage their project through the development stages, not only enhancing their technical skills, but also developing the essential ‘soft skills’ that are so highly regarded by employers:
communication
time management
developing project documentation to a professional standard
the ability to present work to academics and other stakeholders
the ability to work as part of a team
a capacity to deal ethically and competently with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
At the same time, they transition to being independent learners: all necessary skill not only for the IT profession but for all walks of life.
